Summer Inspiration

I’ve been lucky enough to spend time on the coast in Wales, Brighton and North Cornwall over the last few weeks. Three completely different places, but each one has left me with wonderful memories.
Swimming in the sea with mountains in the background, Brighton’s old pier surrounded by people from every walk of life, and the incredible turquoise sea, crashing waves and golden sand of Cornwall.
When I get back into the studio, I realise those memories naturally find their way into my work. The colours, the movement of the waves, the bubbles, the sunlight… they’re all there in the glass.
For me, creating isn’t just about making something beautiful. It’s a way of holding on to those moments. Every time I look at a finished piece, I’m reminded of the places I’ve been, the people I was with and the adventures we’ve shared.
That’s something we encourage in all of our workshops too. Rather than following a template, you’re free to design something that’s personal to you. Whether your inspiration comes from a favourite holiday, your garden, a much-loved pet, or simply colours and patterns you love, we’ll help you bring your vision to life in glass.
If you’re looking for a creative couple of hours this summer, we’d love to welcome you to the studio.
Bubble Mania!
Charlotte has become completely hooked on experimenting with copper oxide! What started as a little experiment has turned into hours of testing different amounts, using brushes and even spinning the glass on a Lazy Susan to create beautiful spirals and bubbles.
The results have been amazing. She’s created a beautiful bubbly whale and, together, we’ve designed a new range of bubble coasters that we’re really excited about.
The recent sunshine has really brought them to life too. The bubbles catch the light and shimmer.
We also used the technique in our latest Glass Club, where everyone created their own jellyfish hangers using copper oxide to create floating bubbles.
The best bit? Copper oxide is available for everyone to use in our workshops. Whether you’re making jewellery, a lantern, a suncatcher or something completely different, we’ll show you how to use it to add beautiful bubbles, spirals and shimmering turquoise effects to your own designs.

Make Something This Summer
Whether you’ve been inspired by holidays, your garden, a favourite place or simply fancy trying something new, we’d love to welcome you to the studio this summer.
You’re free to design your own piece and we’ll help you bring your ideas to life in glass. Whether that’s jewellery, garden art, lanterns, pictures or something completely unique, every workshop is suitable for beginners and all materials are included.
We still have spaces available on many of our summer workshops, including Fusing Fun, Jewellery, Handkerchief Vases, Plant Pot Mini Sculptures and more.
If you’ve already caught the fused glass bug, don’t forget there are still a few Glass Club places available, and our monthly Studio Time sessions are perfect if you’d like to develop your own ideas with access to the studio, equipment and expert help.
We’ve also been delighted to receive lots of enquiries for birthdays, family get-togethers and team workshops recently. If you’re looking for a creative group activity, we’d love to help you plan something special.
Take a look at the full workshop programme on our website – we hope to see you soon!
Thank you for supporting our little studio. Every booking, purchase and recommendation really does mean the world to us.
