This is the perfect class if you want to come and find out what fusing is all about, want to come with friends, can’t decide what you want to make or if you have experience and just need a fusing fix!
During the 2 hour session you will be able to make coasters, suncatchers and small dishes. It is suitable for all levels of experience. If it is your first time fusing or need a recap, you will be shown how to cut and break the glass safely and given all the help and guidance needed to layer and design your chosen piece(s). If you have been on one of our workshops before, you know the drill, get creating! There will be plenty of different techniques and project options available to you.
The courses are held at Glass Quarter Designs, Studio 14, on the site of the Red House
Glass cone, near Stourbridge, in the heart of the Glass Quarter. You can spend time looking around the site, which includes a visitor centre, other craft studios and a coffee shop, although tea and coffee will be provided. If you have any specific dietary requirements then please just let us know.
Your pieces will need to be fired overnight, but will be able to collect a few days after the
courses or they can be posted for a small additional cost. If you catch the fusing bug and fancy learning more, you continue learning new skills with us by joining our monthly evening glass club!!
