Fused Glass Picture Lantern Workshop

Design and make your own fused glass panels to create a decorative picture lantern in our studio at the Red House Glass Cone, Stourbridge.

 

In this relaxed, hands-on workshop, you’ll create colourful glass panels which will be kiln-fired and assembled into a lantern — perfect for lighting a candle and adding something unique to your home.

 

No experience needed.

What will I make?

​

You’ll create one or more fused glass panels which will be turned into a finished picture lantern.

 

Your design could be:

 

• Floral or nature-inspired

• A simple decorative pattern

• A multi-panel story or scene

​

Your panels will be kiln-fired after the workshop and fitted into a lantern frame to create your finished piece.

 

What to expect

During this 3-hour session, you’ll be guided step by step through:

 

• How to safely cut and shape glass

• How to use frit and decorative elements

• How to design and build your panels

You’ll have access to a wide range of coloured glass and materials, so you can keep your design simple or create something more detailed.

 

We’ll guide you throughout, while giving you the freedom to create something that feels like your own.
